RS Components adds high-performing 35W-150W chassis-mount SMPS family to RS Pro portfolio
Over 80 variants deliver high stability, efficiency, reliability, class B EMC, and CE/UL safety approvals
RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, has further extended its RS Pro portfolio, delivering high performance and great value for money, by introducing a family of more than 80 chassis-mount switched-mode power supplies (SMPS).
Building on the RS Pro brand values, and offering flexible choices for designers, the new range covers power ratings from 15W to 1000W and a choice of fixed, single DC output at 5V, 12V, 24V, 36V or 48V. The outputs are regulated within ±10%, with ripple and noise as low as 120mVp-p at 12V.
Featuring high-quality components and state-of-the-art power-conversion topology, the power supplies reach efficiency of more than 90% for some variants. No-load power consumption is as low as 0.2W, depending on the power rating. The underlying high-quality design principles also result in fast rise time, low inrush current, and long hold-up time. Featuring lightweight and compact construction, in enclosed or open-frame configurations, size and weight are pared down to 99mm × 82mm × 30mm and 0.23kg for the 35W models. The 150W models are 159mm × 97mm × 30mm and 0.48kg.
Comprehensive safety features are built in, including hiccup-mode short-circuit protection with auto-recovery, up to 150% overload capability, and over-voltage protection for the 100W and 150W models. The power supplies are designed for excellent reliability with cooling by free air convection, having a broad operating temperature range and long rated lifetime. All units shipped are subjected to aging tests and come with a three-year warranty.
All RS Pro models are CE and UL approved, and feature a universal AC input allowing operation from line voltages anywhere in the world. EN55022 Class-B EMC compliance, and isolation resistance up to 100MΩ at 500V DC, simplify design-in to a wide variety of appliances, including medical equipment.
The RS Pro family of chassis-mount switched-mode power supplies is available now from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
