Miniaturized sensor EX series
The biggest challenge when manufacturing miniaturized industrial photoelectric sensors is to combine the optical and electronical parts in one housing. This is one of the complex requirements imposed by the industry.

The fact that Panasonic is able to meet this challenge is due to our long years of experience in the development of photoelectric sensors for the automation industry.

Panasonic’s ability to manufacture miniaturized sensors has been proven again recently with the development of the worldwide smallest optical thru-beam sensor with a built-in amplifier: the EX-Z sensor.

Even though the housing is only 3mm deep, everything fits inside: optics, electronics, indicator LEDs, and a transistor output. Some industries require a low power consumption and IP65 degree of protection. Also excellent vibration and shock resistance are important features when the sensor is to be used in harsh environments.

Panasonic offers more than 2,000 different photoelectric sensors. The sensors from the EX series are especially suited when it comes to precise object detection, but with limited space for installation. All these sensors are very compact in size and are able to detect even the smallest object quickly and with high precision.
