Mouser Electronics Now Stocking Texas Instruments Ultra-Low-Jitter LMK05318 Clock with BAW Resonator
Mouser Electronics is now stocking the LMK05318 network synchronizer clock from Texas Instruments (TI). Featuring a bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonator, the ultra-low jitter, single-channel clock for 400-gigabits-per-second (Gbps) links helps systems transmit more data faster while also providing higher margin for system jitter budgets than similar devices.
TI's LMK05318 network synchronizer clock, available from Mouser Electronics, is a high-performance network synchronizer clock device that provides jitter cleaning, clock generation, and advanced clock monitoring. The device's ultra-low jitter, high power supply noise rejection (PSNR), and the industry-best hitless switching performance deliver the lowest bit errors for 56-Gbps (and emerging 112-Gbps) pulse-amplitude modulation-4 (PAM4) links to enable better network performance.
The LMK05318 can generate output clocks with 50-fs RMS jitter using TI's proprietary BAW voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) technology, independent of the jitter and frequency of the crystal oscillator and reference inputs. The device meets the timing requirements of communications infrastructure and industrial applications, helping system designers streamline design logistics for faster time to market, while enabling stable, simplified, high-performance data delivery.
For development, Mouser also stocks the TI LMK05318EVM evaluation module. The LMK05318EVM includes SMA connectors for clock inputs, oscillator inputs, and clock outputs to interface the device with 50-Ohm test equipment. The onboard crystal oscillator allows the LMK05318 to be evaluated in free-running, locked, or holdover mode of operation. The EVM can be configured through the onboard USB microcontroller interface using a PC with TI's TICS Pro software graphical user interface.
