Now at Mouser: NXP i.MX 7ULP Applications Processors for Ultra-Low-Power Portable Devices with Rich Graphics
Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the i.MX 7ULP applications processors from NXP® Semiconductors. Based on Fully Depleted Silicon on Insulator (FD-SOI) technology, the i.MX 7ULP devices support ultra-low-power performance and rich graphics for applications such as portable medical devices, smart home controls, wearable devices, gaming accessories, and portable printers and scanners.
The NXP i.MX 7ULP applications processors, available from Mouser Electronics, are based on Arm® Cortex®-A7 and Cortex-M4 cores with separate isolated domains, and include both 3D and 2D graphics processing units (GPUs). The Cortex-A7 and Cortex-M4 cores enable the device to run a rich operating system like Linux on the Cortex-A7 core and a real-time operating system (RTOS) like FreeRTOS on the Cortex-M4 core.
The processors provide 32 Kbytes of L1 cache instruction memory, 32 Kbytes of L1 cache data memory, and 256 Kbytes of L2 cache, as well as 512 Kbytes of SRAM. The versatile processors also support up to 32-bit LPDDR2/LPDDR3 memory interfaces, GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, and USB interface types. The processors offer a deep sleep suspend power consumption of just 50 µW in optimized configurations, while low leakage and operating voltage scalability are delivered via reverse and forward body biasing of the transistors.
Mouser is also stocking the i.MX 7ULP Evaluation Kit. Containing a system-on-module (SOM) board that connects to an associated baseboard, the evaluation kit enables out-of-the-box startup and supports reconfiguration for MIPI displays. The SOM provides 1 GByte of LPDDR3, 8 MBytes of Quad SPI flash, a Micro SD 3.0 card socket, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® connectivity, USB 2.0 OTG with Type C connector, and an NXP PF1550 power management IC. The kit's baseboard offers expanded capabilities, including audio codec, an HDMI connector, multiple sensors, and a full SD/MMC 3.0 card socket. The kit also includes a bootable SD card preinstalled with a Linux operating system. For additional evaluation, Mouser also stocks the NXP i.MX7ULP1 MIPI display touch panel.
