Chokes from the SCF-XV series by KEMET are a new part of the TME offer. These are common mode components designed for a wide range of applications in harsh environmental conditions, for example in manufacturing or in the automotive industry.
The nanocrystalline metal core, high permeability and inductance are some of the most important properties of these components. Their advantages are high 1000V AC/DC rated voltage and a wide range of operating temperatures (from -40°C to 150°C). The base and cap stand out with their UL94V-0 class flame retardance. Additionally, the components are AEC-Q200-qualified for the automotive industry, which means they can be used in car electronics.
These products are typically installed in chargers for hybrid and electric vehicles (EV/PHEV), as well as 86kHz wireless charging systems. In cars, such components are used mainly in power drives for steering and air conditioning control elements. They are also suitable for high-voltage EMI filters, especially if they are supposed to be used in harsh conditions.
